Through an unparalleled level of commitment, sacrifice and passion; Chef de Cuisine, Antonio Sotomayor, is primed to lead Hawksworth Restaurant’s outstanding culinary team and present guests with elevated, ingredient-driven dish and menu combinations that best showcase B.C.’s diverse culinary landscape.
Joining the team in 2013, Sotomayor began his career as chef de partie, going on to perfect his craft at every level of the kitchen. His passion for the team and desire to learn saw Sotomayor quickly rise up the ladder, as he honed his culinary skills under the guidance of several elite chefs during his six years at Hawksworth Restaurant, including opening Chef de Cuisine, Kristian Eligh and David Hawksworth. Sotomayor continues to search for inspiration with stages at Perse and Eleven Madison Park in New York, as he looks to innovate and build upon Hawksworth’s award-winning reputation.
Originally from Guadalajara, Mexico, where Sotomayor worked the front of the house in many family-owned establishments, it’s no surprise that Sotomayor strives to create a positive and motivating kitchen environment for his team, encouraging and helping staff develop their own culinary talent.
